Carmarthen Market HallCarmarthen Market - Local Produce, Art and Craft, Antiques

Carmarthen Town without it's Market is unimaginable - it has always been there, apparently since Roman times. Stalls with Fruit and Veg, locally produced meats, bread, cakes. Antique Jewellry, collectors items such as vinyl records, electrical items, a range of art and craft, even the property display of an Carmarthenshire Estate Agent - and the list doesn't end here. We will try in due corse to publish a full listing of what is available at Carmarthen Market. Twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays) the market expands into the streets of Carmarthen with additional traders setting up stalls.

Carmarthen Market - Indoor Market Hall

The Clock Tower at Carmarthen MarketThe Market Hall (picture above) occupied by Carmarthen Indoor Market opened in March 2009 (opened by Princess Anne) as the first stage of the St Catherine's Walk Shopping Centre which opened a year later.

The modern market hall replaces the original market which stood at the other side of the Clock Tower (left) and had to give way to the new develepment.  The Clock Tower itself
was retained as a feature of the St Catherine's Walk Centre.

Opening Hours for Carmarthen Market

Carmarthen Market is open six days a week (Monday to Friday) form 9am to 5pm. The best days to visit are Wednesdays and Saturdays when there are additional stalls in the streets.
